An Inconvenient Truth
I was recently discussing this movie with a friend and he seems to be very concerned that we are polluting the earth beyond repair.
I think its ok even if we are spoiling the earth. We are only bringing the inevitable closer by a few millennia :). In the grand scheme of things, it wont make a lot of difference.
Most likely even if our current civilization gets wiped out due to cold etc.. it will be a long time before similar levels of CO2 production come to be. So the sum total of CO2 emissions would end up being less than other wise.
I would say half of the world's population would get wiped out in wars and geological changes as a result of melting ice caps etc.. and this would happen so fast, the emission would have to go down significantly and stabilize again.
we can see the effects of change already!! bees vanishing from North America, Mexican Butterflies showing up in SoCal etc..
what do you guys think?
